Lepidolite carries natural lithium — the same element medicine later reached for to quiet storms of the mind. Named from the Greek lepidos, “scale,” for its shimmer of tiny plates, it comes in lavender, rose, green and gold, and has been the mineral world’s evening light since long before we had the word for it.
