Careers

Work at the bench.

Dusk & Relic is a small studio in the Los Angeles jewelry district, making crystal jewelry by hand — natural stones, knotted one bead at a time, kept for life. We hire slowly, and we hire for patience: for people who would rather do one thing properly than five things quickly.

Crafting Trainee Los Angeles, CA · Part-Time · In-Studio · 20–30 hours/week

We are looking for someone drawn to craft, patience, and material honesty — someone who finds meaning in making things by hand and understands that precision is a form of care.

This role sits at the heart of our studio. You’ll help bring ideas into physical form, stringing and knotting crystal bracelets from design direction while contributing to the development of new pieces. Working closely with the designer, you’ll take part in the early, exploratory stages of creation as well as small-batch studio production.

The Role

You will assist in crafting and prototyping new designs, helping translate concepts into tangible objects. From laying out a stone sequence to refining knotting, tension and finishing, you’ll play a hands-on role in developing new pieces while supporting the studio’s daily making process.

You’ll Be Responsible For

  • Stringing and knotting crystal bracelets to design direction, one bead at a time
  • Assisting in the development of new pieces from concept to finished form
  • Sorting and matching natural stones for color, veining and size across a batch
  • Preparing materials and tools — beads, gold-fill spacers, cord — for daily studio work
  • Maintaining consistency, tension and quality across small-batch production
  • Learning and following studio techniques, workflows, and safety practices
  • Documenting and organizing prototypes, samples, and works in progress

You Might Be

  • Someone with experience in beadwork, jewelry making, metalsmithing, or a related craft
  • Comfortable translating design ideas into physical prototypes
  • Detail-oriented, patient, and confident working with your hands
  • Curious about natural stone — how it varies, how it wears, how a piece holds together over years
  • Drawn to studio culture and slow, intentional creation

Designer Trainee Los Angeles, CA · Part-Time · Remote · 20–30 hours/week

We are seeking a designer-in-training who understands that design is not decoration, but decision-making. Someone who pays attention to proportion, restraint, and the quiet details that shape how an object is felt, not just seen.

This role supports the creative direction of the studio across jewelry design, visual systems, and product storytelling. You’ll assist in design development while learning how a small, intentional brand builds coherence across form, material, and presentation.

The Role

You will work alongside the designer to help translate concepts into tangible forms — from stone palettes and sketches to digital assets and presentation materials. This is a hands-on role where design thinking meets real-world constraints: what a stone actually looks like, what a cord can actually hold.

You’ll Be Responsible For

  • Assisting in jewelry and product design development across our eight energies
  • Supporting design iterations, stone palettes, mockups, and prototyping workflows
  • Preparing visual assets for internal review and brand documentation
  • Helping maintain consistency across product, packaging, and visual language
  • Organizing design files, stone references, and studio materials

You Might Be

  • A design student or early-career designer with a strong sense of taste
  • Proficient in tools such as Figma, Illustrator, or similar design software
  • Interested in product, industrial, or jewelry design
  • Thoughtful, organized, and receptive to feedback
  • Drawn to minimalism, material-driven design, and long-lasting objects

Based in Los Angeles, CA.
Part-time, remote position.

To apply, please email your resume and portfolio to contact@duskandrelic.com.
